Everyone has their own system and habits when it comes to the weekly food shop, and we all have our own tricks to speed the process up.
So it can be difficult when you entrust the task to someone else - and while some love the break, others struggle to hand over that control.
While we're sure they try their best, it's likely that your partner, family member or friend might come back with different items or struggle to get the bits you were after.
But one woman wasn't willing to take this risk, so she decided to send her boyfriend to the supermarket with a fool-proof list - and it really is quite remarkable.
To make sure she didn't have a series of phone calls whilst he was there, TikTok user Steff typed up a shopping list which laid out the names of the products, alongside a photo of it, the quantity of items and a description of it.
She shared a video of her idea on the video platform with the caption: "Doing groceries is an art form".
Steff decided she was "giving up control" to let her boyfriend do the food shop.
There was even a section labelled "general advice" which offered an alternative product if the specific one on the list wasn't available.
As well as answers to specific queries he would often call her about, like certain flavours of products and brands.
But what's more, Steff even listed the items in order of where they were found in their local supermarket, so the entire process was fuss-free.
The video has since been viewed almost two million times and racked up 286,000 likes, with lots of women saying they can relate.
One person said: "I did this... still got 6 calls and no coconut milk because ‘it doesn't exist’."
Another added: "My boyfriend is the cook and super picky about brands. But I'm the one that does the shopping... I would very much appreciate a list like this."
A third said: "I asked my fiance for lettuce and he came back with cabbage."
Yet, a few people didn't quite understand why she needed to write her boyfriend a list like this, with one person saying: "This is so sad, girl... He's not three. He needs to figure it out."
And: "You are dating a child lol."
With which another added: "I'm sorry but the person who said this is insane has obviously never sent a guy out to get groceries before."
And the video was such a success, the couple have planned to make a part two.
