A 22-year-old house-help has been sent to life imprisonment for defiling a six-year-old boy in Migori County.
Neema Matiko Thomas, alias Aunty, was accused of defiling the minor at Central Kamagambo location in Rongo sub-county, Migori, last March 30.
She was said to have infected the minor with a sexually transmitted disease.
Rongo Senior Resident Magistrate Raymond Lang’at ruled that the house-help deserved no mercy, even after she pleaded for forgiveness and a lighter sentence.
The magistrate ruled that although Neema was a first offender, the offence she had committed required stiff punishment.
He said the accused not only defiled the boy but also made him sick. “The boy had to be put on medication, which had huge negative impact on him,” said Lang’at.
The accused has 14 days to appeal the sentence.
