6 easy DIY masks for natural hair

Hair

Buying hair products as a naturalista involves looking for a miracle brand that will moisturize, reduce frizz and breakage, make the curls pop, promote hair growth and do just about anything else for their hair.

Unfortunately, finding all these properties in one product can be unrealistic.

All is not lost though: a trip to your kitchen could be just the solution you need. Combine essential oils with super foods in your fridge and make a concoction that will do wonders for your hair.

Here are a few different hair masks that you can mix up at home for brilliant, healthier natural coils.

1. Mayonnaise Hair Mask

Putting mayonnaise in your hair may sound a bit disgusting but the results will make it all worth it. Mix the mayo with an egg, castor oil, coconut oil and apply to freshly washed hair. This mixture will help heal hair suffering from heat damage and over-styling.

2. Protein Sensitive Natural Hair Mask

If you have protein sensitive hair, you should make a mixture that excludes all proteins but still caters to your hair. Take a banana, coconut milk, aloe vera juice and olive oil and mix them up. This works as a deep conditioner and works great even for relaxed and not protein sensitive hair too.

3. Avocado Hair Smoothie

Avocados are a Holy Grail fruit that can fix almost anything and this includes your hair. Combine avocados, organic honey, pure avocado oil, olive oil and organic unsweetened coconut milk to make this mask. Apply it to your hair and it will effectively strengthen and stimulate hair growth.

4. Hair Growth Mask

Due to the variety of ingredients in this, this DIY mask is a super combo that will promote hair growth, prevent breakage, moisturize, add shine to the hair and do so much more. Mix an egg, banana, avocado, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil and organic honey to make this conditioner.

5. Protein Mask

You can whip up a protein mask without having to put eggs and mayo. Simply substitute them with Greek yoghurt and add coconut oil, shea butter and extra virgin olive oil. This is a great moisturizing mask so you have no excuse for having that dry brittle hair.

6. Deep Conditioning Treatment

Mixing up castor oil, aloe vera gel and virgin coconut oil will give you a deeply nourishing and moisturizing hair mask. Jamaican castor oil is especially great in reviving brittle and dry hair. This mixture will breathe life into your hair once again.
