Is fighting for a man really worth it?

Girl Talk
True friends should never let a man come between them.

A drop-dead gorgeous hunk just moved to your neighbourhood. He is everything you have ever wanted in a man; thoroughly masculine and sexy, and his smile is absolutely to die for.

How have you changed in the past two years?

Your running with him at the store revealed that he has a charming sense of humour, and rumour has it that he is a big shot in his field of work.

You are completely stricken by this handsome new stranger. You are just writhing with excitement as you anticipate sharing the details of your new found crush with your best friend.

As you start divulging sweet nothings about this prince charming who has caught your eye to your best friend, she looks distraught.

Then she drops a bombshell; she has a crush on him too. Talk about a sticky situation! You are both convinced of his affection and nobody is willing to back down.

You start regarding each other with resentment and suspicion.

Falling in love with the same guy is not all that impossible between friends, especially if you frequent the same social circle.

It can cause a lot of anguish to the parties involved because it will definitely put the friendship to the test.

It is not uncommon to find previously self-proclaimed best friends ending up as sworn enemies, all because of a man. The sad part is that the man might not be in either of their lives a couple of years down the line.

If you ever find yourself in such a dilemma, the most important thing to remember is that the relationship you share with your best friend is more important.

You were in each other’s lives long before the guy came into the picture and that kind of bond should not be taken lightly. If you have it in you, be the bigger person and walk away.

Men come and go, but true friendship is very hard to come by.

If none of you is willing to walk away, you should agree to let the object of your love make the decision, without any manipulations from either of you.

If he picks one of you, the unlucky one should accept and respect that decision.

I know it sounds a little impractical considering the circumstances, but you should be happy for your friend for finding love.

Women are competitive by nature. Most women will have no qualms about throwing away a great friendship even for a short fling with a guy.

There is a certain kind of pride that comes with getting the guy all the girls want. Is it really worth it in the end? True friends should never let a man come between them. Have you ever been in such a situation? How did it work out for you?
