Dreadlocks don’t come cheap: Type of locs and how much they cost per inch

Hair

"It is pacifying for clients to know the source of their locs. Unlike weaves, which one can remove after a while, locs are more permanent." Steve Roots, loctician

Types of locs

Sister locs.

Also known as Freedom as one can swim or wash them at home without ruining them. These are done with a crochet hook and are tiny locs.

Normal locs.

Most common and require a retouch every two weeks depending on how fast they grow.

Baby locs.

Short and spiky; the hair is rolled not twisted.

Instant locs.

Similar to normal locs but these are locked on the same day using a crochet hook.

Natty dreadlocks.

For the Rastaman. The hair usually locks itself when it is not combed over time.
