Why some millenials give me migraines

Living

Sometimes I look around and I am tempted to ask God what type of soil He used to create a certain generation. I am not sure what type of soil was used to mould my generation but I am almost certain it's not the same type that was used to mould the generation I am talking about.

This generation starts from somewhere in the very late 80s and cuts right through the 90s. It gets even worse with the millennials!

I know you probably think I am going to rant about their ability to shorten already short words and misuse of the letter 'x'. We intelligently managed to help them shorten 'What is up' to 'What's up' but still they went ahead and introduced 'Wssp' as if they are talking about an insect.

Anyway, today I will not dwell on their lack of professionalism but on their lack of humanity. This is the generation that will take 'selfies' next to an accident victim lying unattended at the accident scene and post them on social media. I am yet to discover whatever they gain from such posts. Nothing really matters to them apart from them.

Surprisingly enough, even with this attitude, some of them manage to overtake some of us career wise. While some of my age mates are juggling being a housewife, a student and an employee, some of them sit on ergonomic chairs in boardrooms.

As if that is not enough, their account balances cannot be put in the same sentence with our account balances unless of course someone is doing a sensitive comparison. Even with those six figure bank balances, this lot knows nothing about responsibility. The other day, my neighbour, who belongs to this lot received a phone call from his grandfather. The old fellow was asking for some money my neighbour's response gave me a mini heart attack because for some minutes, I felt a sharp pain through my heart right to my back.

My neighbour hang up after lying to the old man that he was in a meeting and would call him back. He then started cursing the old fellow. "Why should I be the one to wake up early in the morning to beat traffic, work hard the whole day and then end up sending him money? Does he know how hard it is? I am not sending him any money, period!"

For a minute, I thought his grandfather had asked for money to build an empire! So I asked him how much the old man had asked for. "He did not say how much! He just said he did not have money to buy a hat because the heat is unbearable," he shouted at me.

My dear citizens, how much does a hat cost in whichever county you came from? Is there some other expensive mineral being mined there known as hat or is this coded language?

My neighbour seemed not to understand why the grandfather chose to ask him for the money. While to me this would look like a blessing, he thought the old man was picking on him. These millennials are the same people who don't take care of their old folks living upcountry.

They could be living in rented mansions in the city and own German vehicles while their parents are wallowing poverty and hopelessness. They live for themselves. They are not humane.

I can stand the xaxa mxupa bit but no, I can't stand heartless people.
