Double Standards of being a player

There is thing called a double standard, it falls under the likes of gender equality and equity and lets treat each other the same way we would like to be treated and all of that other stuff that people have created groups and organizations to fight for such rights.

In this case,I mean double standard socially and sexually of course. While most of us choose to ignore the double standard, some of us try to hold on to the delusion of innocence within ourselves as the rest of us ignore it because we simply want to judge relentlessly.

So I have a question, what is the difference between;

1. The guy with a girlfriend who he is dating casually of course, a side chick he sees for those late night nasty booty calls, the other girl he is flirting with hoping for that occasional smash, his best friend who he has had "relations" with but are keeping it on the low down but still manage to flirt with every girl that says hi to him. See that guy, he gets them, he can get all the girls he wants and gets away with it, actually, he becomes the anomaly among his boys.

AND

2. The girl who is also dating casually, but still has guys trying to flirt and get all they can. She doesn’t wear her relationship like a badge of honour but she's still cool about it, she has that side guy she calls on those days she just wants to get some, has that guy she calls every time he's in town for that once in a while mind blowing booty call, still has guys buying her drinks and that bestie she's smashed before but is still cool with.

See, these two people do exactly the same things, they are not afraid to admit it, and may even be surprisingly proud of themselves. The only difference is that, society will call one, "The Guy" and the other "The Slut", in that order.

This is where the double standard checks in. See the girl doesn’t care, she saw how guys did this all the time and it was said to be alright. Maybe she got tired of always having to be so cautious so as to avoid the derogatory things people say about her, she just decided to do it too, to simply enjoy the moments in her life, to be able to sit back on her pamper-me days and laugh about how she actually did this and that.

Certainly, not everyone can pull that off; there are still some people in our society who are actually dignified, nice people.

I don’t understand why there has to be such a huge difference between these two individuals who do the same thing. Notwithstanding, I don’t see why anyone should actually care being that it is none of their business. Unfortunately, this is how our society is, rather, how we’ve decided our society should be.

Nevertheless, for this new year, let’s all sit back, sip on those drinks and enjoy those moments....
