Flexi rods are in vogue, let's put them to work

Flexi rods are soft foam rods that can be easily moulded. Fixed properly, these super rollers that use no heat hold your hair in place and create great curls. If you are out looking for gorgeous curls on your permed hair, weave or curls, flexi rods are the best option. They quickly and easily create a new hairstyle for you.

Advantages 1. Flexi rods do not require any heat. Curling irons use heat, which can damage the hair in the long run. 2. Traditional rollers are uncomfortable to sleep in while one can comfortably sleep in flexi rods. 3. Flexi rods consume less time than hot curling irons or traditional rollers; they are quick and easy. 4. They offer incredible results. 5. They are affordable.

For best results with the rods, wash your hair thoroughly, apply a moisturising conditioner and then wring it out slightly, leaving it a bit wet.

Next, apply a leave-in conditioner on the wet hair. It is essential to apply some setting lotion throughout the hair to keep the curls longer after you set it. Use a setting lotion without alcohol as this is likely to dry your hair. Using a tail comb, take small sections of your hair and wrap them around the rods from tip to root. Once the entire section is wrapped around the rod, coil it up towards your scalp to ensure the rod stays in your hair.

Repeat this until your entire head is covered in flexi rods. Alternatively, if your hair is clean and needs no washing, simply section it then spritz it with a mixture of setting lotion and water, to wet it. Use a brush or comb to evenly distribute the mixture on the section of hair so that it is evenly lightly damp. Wrap the hair around the flexi rod, then simply fold the ends in to hold the hair in place.

Wrap your hair in a satin scarf and let the rods stay overnight. In the morning, uncoil the rods then unwrap each section of the hair from the tip to root. It takes about two minutes. Once uncoiled, the rods easily slide away from your hair as long as your hair is completely dry.

Lightly spray your hair with some holding spray or oil sheen spray to give it shine and hold the curls longer. Avoid sprays that contain alcohol as this may lead to sticky or frizzy hair.

If your curls still look good by end of day one, sleep with it under a satin scarf to help them last until the next day. The curls will be looser, but still be well-defined.

For great curls —Your hair should be at least five inches long to look really good. • If your hair dries out while putting the rods, spray a little water/ setting lotion to stop it from becoming frizzy.
