Young Emily Chepng’etich Ruto is today being laid to rest in her home in Chepalungu, Bomet County. Dignitaries among them politicians and top government officials, and Kenya’s women’s cricket team are in attendance to pay their respects to Emmy whose life was lost to blood cancer (Leukemia).
Emmy was diagnosed with leukemia in mid-October and plans were underway to fly her to abroad for treatment. She however died nine days before the journey to get her treatment.
To commemorate her legacy, her father, Governor Isaac Ruto, has pledged to set up a cancer diagnostic and treatment centre in Bomet County.
