Choosing the right hair brush

Living

Styling your hair is one thing and the brush you choose is another. The brush will actually make or break your look.

When you know the type of brush to use, you will achieve the hairstyle finish that will make the world of a difference to your look.

Short hair: For those with short hair, a vented brush is ideal. It allows heat from your blow drier to pass through the brush and straight through your hair.

Your hair will dry faster and it will be easier to shape your hair into a sassy short hairdo.

Medium length hair: This is the easiest length of hair to style since it has more body. A round hair brush is the most ideal to achieve this look because it is able to add shape and some curls as you style; the fact that your hair is neither short nor long makes it even more suitable.

Long hair: A paddle brush is the most ideal for long hair. It is great for detangling and getting through long hair without pulling or damaging it.

Straight hair: Just like long hair, straight hair also needs a paddle brush to achieve a sleek style. If you want to pull your hair nice and taunt, a round brush will also be a better choice. You, however, should avoid curling your hair around the brush and holding it while blow-drying otherwise you will end up adding curls instead.

Curly hair: A small round brush works best for curly hair. It has bristles and the ability to wrap your hair around it; this helps keep the curls in your locks.

Wet hair: Wet hair works best with a comb. If you have to use a brush, however, choose one with wide space bristles, natural bristles, flexible and padded bristles. This way, you have the gentlest brush for delicate wet strands.

Fine hair: With this kind of hair, one needs a brush that adds volume to the hair. A round brush works best in this case; you only need to know how to work it through your hair.
