The Government has released Sh 11 billion free education money days after schools opened.

The money comes as secondary schools said the crisis was threatening to stall operations in their institutions.

Kipsang asked the school heads to exercise laid down financial management practices.

“The monies must be used wisely and accounted for to the coin,” said Kipsang.

Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) national chairman John Awiti said school suppliers had declined to offer credit deliveries citing instability in funding.

He also said the delayed release was set to affect smooth administration of practical examinations.

"We do not have money to purchase chemicals to be used in Science subjects practical examinations," said Awiti.
