MCA on the spot for assaulting husband

Police are investigating a Ward Rep in connection with last Saturday night's assault of her husband.

The victim said he was assaulted by three men who went to their home after they were allegedly called by the MCA. “They roughed me up and I sustained injuries on my jaw,” he said.

The lawmaker is said to have fled the home after the incident.

The man claimed he and his wife had a turbulent marriage but he was always willing to resolve their issues. But on Saturday night, they had a disagreement after she allegedly tried to leave their home with one of their cars.

“We had a number of issues I wanted us to discuss as a couple but I was surprised when I came back... I saw one of our vehicles leaving and when I inquired from our maid who was taking the car, she told me it was some young man,” he claimed.

Yesterday the MCA denied involvement in her husband's assault, but said she had been in an abusive marriage.
