Muhammad Swazuri escapes parliament's scrutiny over Sh1 million bribe allegations

National Land Commission chairman Muhammad Swazuri has escaped scrutiny by the current Parliament over claims he received a Sh1.2 million bribe.

This was after a judge declined to lift orders stopping MPs from debating a motion to remove him from office and instead pushed the hearing of the case challenging his scrutiny to October 3. By then, a new Parliament will be in place.
