Taxi driver strangled and vehicle stolen by thugs

Narok, Kenya: A body of a taxi driver, suspected to have been strangled, was Wednesday found in a culvert near Katakala shopping centre on Bomet-Narok road, Narok County.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Edward Karbolo, was a member of the Narok Taxi Association and operated his taxi in Narok town.

Narok North police boss Paul Leting said the late karbolo was strangled before his assailants fled with his car.

"We have launched a manhunt for the thugs and the public should volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the culprits," he said.

Leiting urged taxi operators to take the details of potential clients before commencing transporting them, to reduce the insecurity cases.

Narok Taxi Association Secretary Kamau Muchemi urged the Government to boost security.

"The government should provide security to the locals. We don't want a situation where lives of innocent Kenyans are being taken away by dangerous criminal," said Muchemi.

The body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary.
