Airtel to offer insurance cover for iPhone 6

Airtel says it will offer a two-year insurance cover to its customers who purchase iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in any of its designated outlets in Kenya.

The insurance for the phones is designed to cover against theft or accidental damage (physical damage or destruction caused by an accident). The insurance cover is an addition to the default one-year warranty from Apple upon purchase of an iPhone and any Apple accessories contained in the original packaging. Airtel has also announced that it will offer data plans to customers who purchase the new devices from Airtel outlets. Customers who buy the 16GB, which goes for Sh85,999 or the 64GB iPhone 6 that costs Sh95, 999 will get a 3GB data per month for three months.

Announcing the offers, Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi, said the insurance plan will ease customers' lives as they will be assured that they will have their handsets replaced once lost, stolen or accidental damaged.
