NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Tuesday evening visited the family of the slain IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando to condole with them.

Mr Odinga said that the killing of Msando must be condemned by Kenyans and the perpetrators must be brought to book.

He, however, indicated that the investigations must be done by neutral international authorities to find out the truth that Kenyans and the family deserve to know.

“This evening, I visited the family of the slain IEBC official Chris Msando. It's a heartbreaking and unbearable pain to the young family. It is a Kenyan tragedy. No one has a right to tear at the fabric of life which another man has painfully woven for himself and his children. Msando's death has degraded our nation,” the former Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page.

The late Msando was described as a knowledgeable person, humble and charismatic by his colleagues at the electoral commission.

Those who served with him at the IEBC including Andrew Limo, Tabitha Mutemi and Ronnel Onchagwa described the late Msando as an eloquent person who exuded great passion and in-depth knowledge of technology.

His vehicle was in July found abandoned in Roysambu, Nairobi. Police said they were called and informed about the discovery of the Land Rover Discovery near Thika Road Mall (TRM).

His body was later found at City Mortuary in Nairobi and authorities said it was discovered in Kikuyu forest.

Msando had reported to Central police station about death threats sent to him.
