Former national golfer Daniel Nduva carded a sterling one over par 72 gross to win the 2016 CIC Group golf tournament at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa.
It was not all smooth sailing for the player, who is handicapped 01. Nduva started off on a poor note, playing back-to-back bogey shots in the first two holes.
But as play progressed, he improved his game to sink four birdies on the par five-fifth, the par four-eighth, the par five-11th and the par four-13th holes. He then added more points by playing level pars on nine holes and bogeyed in the 18 holes in both nines. And with that, victory came his way, much to his delight.
“I played well because the course was outstanding and I must say thanks to the green keeper for a job well-done,” said Nduva.
