More officers to be deployed along Baringo-Laikipia boundary

The Government will deploy more police officers along the Baringo-Laikipia border to check cattle rustling.

This follows the revelation that most police posts constructed by the county government have inadequate officers.

During a tour of the area yesterday, newly appointed Nyahururu Deputy County Commissioner Flora Mworwa assured residents that more officers would be deployed to the area.

Cases of cattle rustling have been on the rise at the border with suspected bandits from Baringo invading Laikipia County.

The most affected areas include Kamwenje, Wangwaci, Maua and 18 villages.

"We want to assure residents that soon they will witness more officers being deployed in the area," she said.
