SONU(Babu Owino) & MUKSA(Omwoyo Maranga) to seek national elective positions in the 2017 elections

Mr. Omwoyo Maranga, president of the Multimedia University of Kenya Students Association (MUKSA) has joined the trail of seeking national level leadership after having declared his readiness to oust current Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament Elijah Moindi.

The engineering student rose to the helm of the university student leadership during his second last of his practicum garnering overwhelming support from his colleagues than his senior ordain competitors.

Mr. Maranga has said he is well groomed and ready to take over the parliamentary seat Mr. Moindi who is the only legislator at the national assembly elected on a Narc Kenya ticket.

He has called on the Nyaribari Masaba residents to embrace youthful leadership saying only young flowers have nectar and easily attract the sweetener.

“The people of Nyaribari Masaba should set precedence for this country by electing young leaders that are set to unseat old incumbent leaders who have had a citizen burdening power-clot for a long time. I will give alternative transformation leadership we have been devoid of for a long time,” said Mr. Maranga.

He accused the current MP of taking his leadership as a privilege and trivializing his responsibility at the national government and failing to deliver on his per-elections pledges to the people.

“Leadership is a responsibility and not a privilege. Only those who can deliver services as humble public servants deserve it,” he added.

The ‘This Is That Opportunity’ known students leader revealed to students hailing from Kisii county that only the county government had made an effort in developing the region’s infrastructure and health services, lauding the leadership of Governor James Ongwae who had sent a representative to the county students association meeting held at the institution on Friday.

Mr Maranga said the crucial Masimba - Ramasa - Mogweko roads were still in a pathetic state despite being the one used by the MP to access his home.

He said the MP had pledged to liars with the National government after taking up the leadership to have the road constructed but his term had lapsed without any signs of fulfilling the promise.

Mr. Maranga pledged to support Kisii Governor’s reelection bid through his constituency youth network to be launched in December under his campaign team. Nairobi University Student Union (SONU) chairman Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino is also seeking the Embakasi East parliamentary seat held by John Ogutu on an ODM ticket.
