Kenya teachers’ unions at crossroads as polls deadline closer

NAIROBI: Teachers are staring at the death of unions if they fail to conduct their elections as envisaged in the law. The unions are now exploring options to conduct their polls before the March 31 deadline.

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) said it will remain a ‘paper tiger’ with no powers to engage the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on the collective bargaining agreement.
