Kisumu County Assembly's suspended Majority Leader Samuel Ong'ow was Thursday arraigned at Tamu Law Courts in Muhoroni with charges of assaulting a police officer.
The assault is said to have taken place on May 11 when officers attached to the EACC in Kisumu went to arrest him over a graft case. Senior Resident Magistrate Aswani Opande heard that Ong'ow assaulted Corporal David Nyandika at Pawteng' village.
He was released on a bond of Sh50,000 with an alternative of a cash bail worth Sh20,000. The case will be heard on July 30. After the Tamu court, Ong'ow went to Kisumu where he was also released on a Sh1 million cash bail over the corruption case.
