Police recover gun, arrest two robbery suspects in Nairobi

Police recovered a gun and 14 bullets from two suspects in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

Speaking to The Standard on Saturday on phone, Kilimani OCPD Peter Kattawe said the gun was in good condition and the suspects were out to commit robbery. “The suspects were on a mission to commit robbery and they were probably targeting Solar Gardens Hotel,” said the OCPD.

Mr Kattawe said one suspects is a foreigner and in the country illegally. He also suspected the individuals are drug dealers and were using a stolen vehicle.

“We also got a substance that looks like cocaine in the vehicle the suspects were using. The vehicle could have been stolen by the suspects,” he said. He said the two suspects were arrested on Thursday and are in custody in Kileleshwa Police Station as investigations are ongoing.

On the same day, a businessman Anthony Munyoki Kimeu was held at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for alleged illegal possession of a gun. Kimeu was released on bond and will report to police on Monday.
