KILIFI, KENYA: About 800 students at Lutsangani Secondary school in Kilifi County were on Tuesday sent home after they protested the alleged invasion of the school by ghosts  which they claim torment them at night.

The school board of management chairman Mr Javna Chiro said the discussion to send the students home until Monday was reached after consultative meeting with the school teachers headed by the deputy Mr Stephen Kiraga

‘The school board of management with consultation with the administration of the school headed by the deputy Mr Kiraga has resolved that you students be sent home until Monday as lasting solutions is being found’ said Mr Chiro

The students said they started experiencing the problems from last Friday night and from that time up to now they have not been getting good sleep in their dormitories.

Students in the mixed secondary school claimed some of their colleagues have been mysteriously removed from dormitories at night and later found to have been dumped under baobab trees around the school.

According to the school deputy principle Mr Stephen Kiraga, the mystery was reported to him on Saturday night where the students mostly in the boy’s dormitory claimed of having been tormented by the evil spirits.

‘The issue of the students mostly the boys protesting that they have been having sleepless nights for being tormented by evils spirits was officially communicated to me by our boarding master.’ Said Mr Kiraga

Mr Kiriga said his attempts with the school boarding Master Mr Dancan Orina to talk to the students and convince them to maintain peace and continue sleeping in the dormitories could not yield fruits as the students ever complain of being tormented.
