Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United top January transfer target Erling Haaland has made his decision on his future.

As Mirror Football reported last night, strike sensation Haaland has told United boss Solskjaer that he wants to join the Red Devils next month.

The Norwegian apparently flew to Salzburg last Friday to speak to Haaland and convince him that his future should be at Old Trafford - with the forward also believed to have visited Carrington.

And when asked about the rumoured meeting, Solskjaer refused to be moved, but did drop a massive hint about Haaland's mind set.

"There's been plenty of speculation, and you know I won't talk about that," Solskjaer said. "But he's [Erling Haaland] had a great career in Salzburg, so he knows what he wants to do.

"I don't have to give any advice to any other teams' players."

Goal machine Haaland, who has scored 28 times this season in 22 minutes, missed RB Salzburg's last game before their two moth winter break with an injury.

United face a battle for his signature, with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool also strongly linked with him.

Solskjaer made the comments after United were held by relegation strugglers Everton .

The Toffees took the lead through a Victor Lindelof own goal before teenage substitute Mason Greenwood saved Solskjaer's blushes.

And Solskjaer was impressed with the 19-year-old and promised him more game time. He said: "He is a goalscorer. He knows where the goal is and just has that knack.

"He is making it hard for me now. I need to give him more game time. We have just found the right moment for him now, he is stepping up.

"You can't control the result. We dominated, we had 20-odd shots and we conceded from a set piece and they are probably one of the best teams in the league set piece wise.

"You can always concede a goal against a team like this. I feel we deserved more."
