Since he lost his ability to walk, August Alsina, has been candid about his battle with the health struggles. Sometimes in July, the 26yr old R&B crooner published a video of himself in a hospital bed after he missed his performance at the 2019 Essence Festival. August revealed that he awoke one day to find that he had lost feeling in both of his legs following a flare-up of his autoimmune disease and learned that he had nerve damage after being admitted to the hospital.

Taking to Instagram he gave an update on his health status. He shared that his doctors are starting him on a new treatment similar to chemotherapy that will repair the nerve damage in his body and help strengthen his immune system.
