Hoteliers are now embracing fitness and wellness tourism in a bid to attract younger generations to their resorts.

One such establishment that has perfected the art of wooing youthful guests is the Naro Moru River Lodge.

The scenic lodge sits along banks of Naro Moru River  that flows from Lewis Glaciers  on Mt Kenya through Naro Moru town and ends up in Ewaso Nyiro River.

Through its 'Discover Your Path – Biking & Nature Trails' has become very popular with both local and international guests who frequent the lodge for holiday and biking expeditions.

''One here interact with nature for approximately 5.5 km of winding trails through breathtaking natural landscapes, and leave the everyday stress behind,'' Naro Moru River Lodge General Manager, Mr Edward Wangeci said.

He added that guests who pertake in the expeditions are also able to pertake an invigorating hike under the shady cover of well rooted trees, or simply enjoy a serene walk in the spectacular scenery.

''No matter what path you choose, the wonders of nature await you all the way,'' Wangeci said.

The Discovery Bicycle Trail winds through a variety of scenic woodlands and stops at the gardens and lodge attractions along the way.

Wangeci said that the trails at Naro Moru are widely known for family-friendly riding, the gently rolling path has numerous entry points, so guests of all ages can explore 70 acres on two wheels.

''All trails crisscross the Naro Moru River on strong wood on bridges open daily and even in dusk with Gardens Admission, so love birds can explore under the moonlight,'' he said.

Wangeci added that rental bikes and equipment are available daily, based on availability, at the lodge grounds.

The Lodge has three main trails to escape into the very heart of nature, they offer a variety of foot trails designed to connect you to the natural world.

''Our trails have a wide array of options for everyone from casual walkers to serious hikers, all affording an up-close view of Mother Nature at her most spectacular,'' the GM said.

Wangeci said that there are three trail paths where guest can chose to participate and they include the family trail where the path weaves through the garden; a natural bloom explodes with and tree forest and bushes that offers for additional color and texture throughout the year.

This is also called the easy path. This is also a friendly path under the moonlight or on headlights.
