Ashley Kitisya, a third year Law student is the new Miss Catholic University of Eastern Africa crown holder.

The graceful eloquent and creative beauty beat eleven other contestors to the crown during a glamourous ceremony that also saw Brian Gitonga win the Mr CUEA title. Brian is an Arts and Social Sciences student in his First year.

“I can’t believe this. I thank God and all who supported me to win this crown, as I did my best among a worthy lot,” an emotional Ashley told MondayBlues moments after she was crowned.

“It was a very competitive show. I trust I will be able to dedicate in carrying my mandate as a CUEA ambassador,” remarked Gitonga.

The Carnivore Simba Saloon hosted the Saturday night affair that also saw Carol Jerotich - a third year Commerce student hitch the first runners up position in the Miss CUEA slot with Celestine Bitutu, also in Jerotich’s class, taking third position.

Moses Njogu and Lesley Amenya emerged second and third, respectively, in the Mr CUEA category.

With hundreds of students in attendance, the contestants exhibited their creative and professional skills as they battled it out in five different categories - with most making good executions that made the show lively and competitive.

The Creative and Talent categories saw the competing team bring out the innovative abilities, with some posing as astronauts and others as wild animals.

And the latest urban fashion among the youth that showcases shades of retro, vintage and oldies was live just as did song and dance during the Talent category.

With homegrown’s Togzik joining Teens Republik and Hits not Homework host Tracy Wanjiru to emcee, sheer humour carried the night with lots of entertainment.

In the house was Otile Brown, who stirred sensation, especially from female students, as he delivered his popular hit tracks,  among them Chaguo La Moyo, Niacheni, Acha Waseme and Baby Love.
