Benson Masubo aka Wazir Chacha, the man accused of defrauding Members of Parliament and senior government officials was on Wednesday, April 25 released on Sh1 million cash bail or Sh3 million surety bond.
The former Ministry of Devolution employee was arrested in Tanzania where he was said to have been hiding, planning to flee to Congo.
Chacha was arraigned in court on April 2 on grounds that he impersonated MPs to obtain money. He is said to have used Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege’s name to con Government officials.
