To my colleagues in the legal profession who have been insulting me- Murkomen stirs social media with his 'advice to lawyers'

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen gave Kenyans on social media something to talk about when he used the platform to condemn law practitioners for not practicing in the right way.

Murkomen posted on his Facebook account after the Supreme Court of Kenya upheld Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential win. This came in the height of political tension as it is the second time the Court was deciding on the legitimacy of elections results this year.

Murkomen in his post accused legal professionals of tricking National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga into withdrawing from the elections.

He also condemned them for being ignorant of the law and for questioning his credentials. He assured those who question his position in matters of law that he knew his part in the legal profession.

Murkomen also thanked the lawyers and respondents who played part in the Supreme Court both after August 8 and October 26 elections.

He reminded them that being an advocate is not always about winning cases but showing the truth by acting in the interest of justice, public interest & professional ethics

His post attracted all manner of responses from Kenyans. Here are some;
