Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku missed out on a Man Of The Match award even after helping his side defeat Premier League rivals Manchester City 2-0 in Houston last week.

Lukaku, who was bought from Everton for a fee of around 75 million pounds scored the second goal, rounding off a comfortable win for Manchester United.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was instead given the award after an excellent performance – a goal and an assist to his name.

The organisers of the ICC (International Champions Cup) along with chief sponsor Heineken were responsible for handing over awards, with Romelu Lukaku failing to secure one.


According to reports, a list of Muslim u-21 players was sent to the clubs – and clearly indicated was the reason why they shouldn’t be given alcoholic gifts.
