Trust on Miguna's Scar that Sonko Joked About

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko appeared to have bitten more that he could chew when he made the decision to debate his competitor for the city's gubernatorial seat Miguna Miguna; International lawyer and barrister.

Miguna appeared to have been the antidote that Sonko needed to bring out the rough and uncultured side that he had managed to hide for the past few weeks.

Bruised from Miguna's heavy intellectual pounding, a rather incoherent Sonko turned to personal attacks as he claimed that his opponent had been a burglar in his young age.

The truth, however, is to be found in Miguna's famous memoir, Peeling Back the Mask. A book that the good senator has clearly not read.

In page 20-21, Miguna narrates a tragic day that nearly claimed his life while he was growing up in rural Nyando. He was eight years old and had gone out grazing with a friend. Typical of grazing boys, they decided to make a club from a fig tree branch. His friend climbed the tree as Miguna held a branch for him to cut. Unfortunately, when the branch had been cut, the panga slipped and fell on Miguna's forehead.

The former advisor in the Prime Minister's office records that the injury nearly cost him his life as he had decided not to let his parents know of the injury in order to protect his grazing companion. It also left a scar on his forehead which is not a secret for those who have read the memoir.
