How far alcohol pushed a drunkard, forcing his family to arrange for his burial ceremony when he was still alive

A man stunned his village after he was thought to be dead forcing his family to go on with his burial ceremony yet the man was still alive.

Wilson Olouch a boda-boda rider from Migori county was presumed dead after he disappeared for three weeks forcing his family to search for him.

While on their search mission, the family members discovered a decomposing body in a sugarcane plantation in Awendo and believed that it was Olouch’s body.

Immediately they found the body they started planning for the burial ceremony which was scheduled on Wednesday.

To their rude shock Wilson Olouch,the man presumed dead was discovered at a local pub together with his friend enjoying a drink.

Upon inquiring from him what happened Olouch told them that on the day of his disappearance he drunk himself silly and decided to leave the village so that he could reorganise his life in a new environment.

The burial ceremony was turned into a feast to mark his return home.His mother said that she was so happy to see her son alive.

“ I am very happy to see my son again.I take this opportunity to thank God for bringing him back.I can now laugh and eat after his return,” said the mother.

Meanwhile, the family returned the body of the deceased to Migori Level Four Hospital.On the other hand, the Luo elders have been called upon to carry out a cleansing ritual.
