An Administration Police officer has been accused of raping a 20-year-old woman who is physically challenged.
The woman, who spoke at Kipkelion Sub-County Hospital, said the officer attached to Lesirwa police post offered her a lift while on her way to a local trading centre.
However, she said that when she got to the trading centre at around 3pm, the officer instructed the boda boda rider to head straight to his house at Ngendalel chief camp.
“There the officer while threatening me that he would kill me if I screamed, dragged me by the hand to his house and locked it,” she said.
She said the officer confiscated her phone and sexually abused her on Monday night and she was rescued on Tuesday morning when her father and furious villagers stormed the officer’s house.
A Post Rape Care Form, filed and signed by Weldon Mitei, a medic at Kipkelion sub county hospital, confirms the woman was raped.
Kipkelion Officer Commanding Police Division Samael Anambiu confirmed the alleged rape incident had been reported at the police station and they had launched investigations.

“We have received the rape allegations and recorded the statement from the alleged victim and we are going to launch immediate investigations over the matter,” he said.
The victim’s father said he became worried when his daughter failed to return home by 11pm Monday night.
“In the morning, my daughter was still missing and that is the time I decided to immediately begin searching for her since I planned to accompany her to Eldoret Technical College where she has been admitted to take co-operative management course,” he said.
