Former Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka have been boosted by the return from injury of skipper Elly Asieche ahead of their trip to Mombasa to face Bandari on Saturday.

Asieche, who suffered an arm injury during the team’s 2-1 loss to AFC Leopards in Mumias a fortnight ago, returned to training on Monday.

Sofapaka play Bandari in the domestic Cup tie — the FKF Cup at Mbaraki Stadium.

The influential midfielder has found the back of the net six times and provided five assists in the on going league campaign.

Defender Thomas Wainaina is also back in the team after recovering from an ankle injury suffered during their 1-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars.

However, the team will miss the services of Nigerian striker Promise Chinonso, who suffered agroin injury last Friday in their league match against Zoo FC where they shared spoils.

Meanwhile, the round of 16 FKF Cup double headers earlier scheduled to be played at the Machakos Stadium have been relocated to the Afraha Stadium.

The highlights of the round of 16 action will be the double header pitting Wazito and KCB and Gor Mahia against Posta Rangers on Saturday.

On Sunday, a double header between AFC Leopards and Ushuru and Ulinzi Stars against Migori Youth will also be among the key matches at the same venue.
