National Sevens Series leaders Homeboyz will battle with Kenya Commercial Bank in today's first quarterfinals of the Kabeberi Sevens at the RFUEA Grounds.
The duo paired up after finishing top and second in their respective groups during yesterday's preliminary matches.
Kenya Harlequin will face off with Kabras Sugar in the second quarterfinal while the Strathmore will take on Nakuru.
The fourth Cup quarterfinal will see tournament's champions Mwamba entertain Impala.
Homeboyz, who won last weekend's Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru, had to wait until the last match against Nakuru (17-0) for them to sail through. Homeboyz suffered a shocking 10-12 defeat to Western Bulls in their opening group match before bouncing back to beat Daystar Falcons 26-5 to set up a must win match against the Wanyores who had already qualified after winning their first two matches.
After barren first half, Michael Wanjala touched down an unconverted try for the Deejayz before Charles Omondi grounded another unconverted try for a 10-0 lead. Max Mang'eni then scored a converted try to book a quarterfinals ticket for Homeboyz.
At the same time, Ginton Adongo scored a brace of tries as Strathmore beat Kisii 25-5 to qualify for the quarters. Other tries were scored by Brian Alukwe, Brian Bango and Adrian Opondo.
Prior to the Kisii victory, the scholars had beaten Nondescript 19-12 in their opening match .
