Pastoralism and lack of identity cards to challenge voter registration in North Rift

Pastoralism and lack of identity cards are some of the challenges expected to confront voter registration in North Rift.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) targets to register 654,839 new voters in the region's six counties.

Turkana South MP James Lomenen complained of inadequate resources allocated to IEBC, saying under funding would hamper efforts to reach potential voters.

Mr Lomenen said IEBC would only achieve its targets if it is allocated more funds through a supplementary budget.
