Jubilee MPs vow to sue Raila after Eurobond investigations

NAIROBI, KENYA: Jubilee MPs now plan to sue Cord leader Raila Odinga over the Eurobond saga.

About five MPs from the ruling coalition said they move to court if ongoing investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission clear CS Henry Rotich from blame regarding the Eurobond money.

On December 1, Raila claimed that the government cannot account for over Sh100 billion, Eurobond money. At a press conference in Nairobi, Raila said the government’s books regarding the Eurobond do not balance adding that it is now clear official accounts have been cooked and continue to be cooked.

“From the reviews, it is clear to us that the greatest case of theft in Kenyan history is either underway or has already been concluded in one fell swoop in the name of Euro Bond,” said Raila.

The five Jubilee MPs say they will sue Mr. Odinga for perjury if EACC exonerates Treasury CS Henry Rotich from wrongdoing.

Meanwhile Raila said he has not received official invitation to appear before the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission over Eurobond investigations.

He said he has only learnt through the media that he has been summoned by the Commission.

I have learnt a short while ago, via the media, that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned me to their offices in regard to his statements on Euro Bond loan,” he said.

I wish to assure Kenyans that once I receive the letter, I will make a decision that will be in the best interest of the public and the Kenyan nation that have been swindled of billions and that ensures that public officers and institutions are held to account in line with the provisions of the integrity provisions of the Constitution.”

He said that he however won’t be party to any cover up or any prolonged game of musical chairs that only gives looters time to hide their loot and public officers to cook the books.
