"The current administration will not tolerate violence, hooliganism, or any form of unlawful conduct in the country's political and social spaces," Dr Omollo said during a visit to Rutune School in Nyeri County. The PS made the remarks days after a section of leaders from Nyanza linked him to the alleged resurgence of goons who have been disrupting political rallies and terrorising locals. According to the leaders, Dr Omollo should be held accountable for nurturing the groups, which they claim now pose security challenges across Nyanza and the rest of the country. Speaking in Nyeri yesterday, Dr Omollo cautioned against making inflammatory statements, stressing that while every Kenyan has the constitutional right to express their views freely, such freedoms must be exercised within the framework of the law. "Cases of violence, intimidation, or unlawful mobilisation will be addressed through proper legal and investigative mechanisms," he assured. "This administration reaffirms its position that hooliganism and disorder will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and security agencies remain vigilant to ensure accountability and maintain public order," Dr Omollo added. The PS highlighted ongoing efforts by National Government Administration Officers, under the leadership of Nyeri County Commissioner Josephat Biwot, to strengthen community safety while addressing emerging social challenges. He noted that alcoholism remains a significant concern in the county, with many youths addicted to second-generation and illicit brews. "In Nyeri County, security teams have intensified operations against illicit alcohol and called for closer collaboration between national government officials, chiefs, assistant chiefs, village elders, and elected leaders to protect lives and preserve social cohesion," said Dr Omollo. The PS also expressed concern over cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), urging communities to work together to protect vulnerable persons and uphold the dignity and safety of all residents. During his visit to the school, Dr Omollo held consultations with the school's leadership and sub-county education officials. He emphasised the need to increase student enrolment and improve academic performance. He highlighted ongoing national education reforms, including the recruitment of over 100,000 teachers, construction of more than 25,000 classrooms, implementation of Competency-Based Education, and reforms in university funding, as part of efforts to strengthen human capital development. Dr Omollo was impressed by the county's transition rate from primary school to Junior Secondary School, which currently stands at 99 per cent, reflecting significant progress in educational continuity. He also outlined major development projects underway in Mukurweini Constituency, including road infrastructure valued at Sh2.9 billion, construction of modern markets worth Sh162 million, affordable housing projects valued at Sh980 million, and student hostels with a capacity of 3,000 beds. "These investments reflect the Kenya Kwanza administration's commitment to equitable development, economic growth, and improved livelihoods across the country," said Dr Omollo. Energy PS Alex Wachira, also present, reiterated the importance of education, faith, and community support in shaping the future of young people. He encouraged students to remain disciplined and focused, reminding them that perseverance, resilience, and commitment to their studies will open doors to opportunities and help them achieve their full potential.
