Liquideep thrill Nairobi fans with high-energy Sounds of December performance

The year 2025 comes to a close, and as usual the Kenyan social scene is awash with events and concerts to wind up the year.

This December is no different as it arrived with unforgettable memories from award-winning South African duo Ziyon and Ryzor of liquideep at the Ngong Racecourse grounds on Saturday.

The two who were the main act of the night took to the stage some few minutes to midnight delivered a high-energy performance that turned an ordinary Saturday into an unforgettable night performing live for one hour.

Known for their soulful, timeless house sound, the Johannesburg-based pair who rose to international recognition with chart-topping hits such as Fairytale, Alone, and Something about You, started of the night at 11:53pm with their hit song Angle.

The duo, who arrived in the country days before the concert, have performed at some of the biggest music festivals across Africa and abroad, earning acclaim for their electrifying live shows and genre-defining music.

Before Liquideep thrilled the fans, Kenyan artiste Bensoul set the tone for the night by entertaining the crowed in what seem as perfect soundtrack to the start of December from the show that started at 2pm hosted by Amina Abdi.

Other than performing hits like Nakufa and Plumber which had fans singing along word for word the Kenyan music genius also took the opportunity to sample his new music set to be released soon to the crowed.

Backed by a live band and dynamic dancers, Charisma also maintained the tempo for the night when he performed hits like Sherehe featuring Okello Max, Away (Omale), True love, Form featuring Trio Mio, and Number One among others.

Before Charisma, another duo, Onyach and Ywaya Tajiri of Watendawili had kept the crowed up and entertained.

The event organised by the Sounds of December with Vibes only and Who Said? also saw performances by DJ Tease from South Africa, DJ Gurlfriend, DJ Cng, Jukebox the band and Muthaka.

To close up the nights performances was the phenomenal woman Fena., who did not disappoint.

And as the final weeks of December unfold, the focus now shifts to Sauti sol who are also expected to give their fans a night to remember tomorrow at the Uhuru Gardens.

Additionally, Nigerian artist Asake is also expected to perform on December 20, alongside Costar Ojwang, Okello Max, Watendawili and Charisma. Blankets and Wine is expected to wind up the weekend with the summer edition on the on Sunday December 21, with Kenyan acts Iyani, Bridget blue and Ssaru among other Kenyan headliners.
