St Albert’s Ulanda High School: Where girls are liberated through quality education

St Albert’s Ulanda Girls High School was established in 1967 to liberate women through education. However, it was not until four years later that it enrolled the first A-Level science class. It is located in Sakwa location, Migori County.
In 2016, the school made news headlines when one of its Form Two students was hit by a stray bullet during Lake Region second term ball games.

The student got herself in the crossfire when a prison warder was in hot pursuit of a jailbird that was escaping. The school was also in the news when Form Three students started manufacturing bottled water. The school has endorsed three official language, English, Kiswahili and French and does well in basketball and volleyball. The current principal is Mrs Phinorah Buyengo.
