Gor Mahia wasted dozens of begging chances in the first half, but managed to beat Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker 1-0 to win the local season curtain raiser, the Super Cup trophy, at Afraha Stadium.

Rwandese international Jacques Tuyisenge converted the all-important goal in the 67th minute from a penalty after Tusker defender Samuel Olwande fouled Timothy Otieno in the box.
