The TikTok user baffled viewers with her dress

A woman has stumped people online after showing off an "optical illusion" dress.

TikTok user @X0jem_ shared a video of herself wearing the Sh4500 (£30) Mind Of My Own Maxi Dress from clothing retailer Fashion Nova.

Thanks to its "genius engineering", the multi-tonal brown dress with a tie waist feature creates the "crazy illusion" of a tiny waist when done up.

In a clip that has been viewed more than 3.2 million times on the platform, Jem demonstrates how to achieve the "snatched" look by pulling two pieces of material together tight at the front and tying them into a knot.

"Looks like I tied my organs together," Jem captioned the short clip on her TikTok account.

Since being posted, the video has received almost 300,000 likes and more than 1,500 comments.

Many viewers who watched the video admitted they were baffled by the illusion.

One said: "Umm I'm scared actually.... looks a bit creepy."

"I am so confused," another declared, to which Jem replied: "Imagine my face when I first put it on. I was looking at it sideways."

"Genius engineering", said a third.

While a fourth baffled person wrote: "Wait... what."

And: "EXCUSE ME ORDERING NOW," said one impressed viewer, while another said: "Omg your waist literally disappeared before my eyes wth."
