Is it a coincidence that all the nominee Cabinet Secretaries are millionaires and billionaires, as if being moneyed was a qualification to be considered for this role?
One would expect that stellar performance and track record in public service would be the common denominator for the nominees to these positions, but alas! More than anything else, it seems to be the nominees' monetary worth.
Based on the self-reported wealth declarations at the vetting sessions, which might just have been massaged downwards to avoid shocking the rest of us, one could easily conclude that the leadership team is representative of the almost 50 million of us. That the worth of the majority is in the millions and billions of shillings could be assumed to be commonplace across the populace.
