There comes a time in your life when you have to make a conscious decision to protect your peace. You can do that by taking conscious steps to avoid draining things or situations.
1. Set boundaries
Having healthy boundaries helps you avoid toxic people or situations. It is ok to say no and it is ok to make yourself unavailable.
2. Prepare for loss
Sometimes peace comes at a cost. Loss of friendships, resigning from a job, losing financial security are all examples of sacrifices you may have to make to eliminate stressors in your life.
3. Find a sanctuary
Find a happy place that re-energises you and rejuvenates your feelings of peace. This does not have to be a physical place; it can also be an activity you enjoy doing.
