When you hit it off with that guy or that mama, do you just turn her/him down when you find out their age? Better yet, does age matter when searching for your significant other?

Wendy Wanjiku, Engineer: It matters a lot depending on the age difference. Most of those who go for younger men just want sex in exchange for money. Most young men who want lavish lives end up befriending older women but it’s just a waste of time.

Maryann Njeri, works in Human Resource: Yes, it matters a lot. I do not expect my mum to go out with someone my age. There must be respect here. A difference of two years is OK but more than that, no.

Susan W. Njau, Self-employed: If it's a difference of 10 years, there is no problem but if it's a 20-year-old and a 60-year-old, it is wrong. That would be your son's age which is not right for me as a believer. The Bible says enjoy the life of your youth, which makes sense.

Lillian Silapei, Home-based care nurse: It’s not allowed. Any person of my parents age is my parent. In my culture, that is an abomination. There is no reasoning on the issue.
