Gone are the days when inter-racial marriages made headlines

Living

What do you think of Africa? A continent where people live on trees? A continent occupied by baboons? Yeah! We might be dark skinned but remember we are humans too who can breathe, smell, touch, smell and hear just like any rational being.

Back to ‘we Africans,’ let’s strongly continue believing in ourselves and stop the assumptions that as long as the vehicles tyres are black and as long as black is worn at funerals while white at weddings racism will never end because I think we might be the perfect strangers just the way we are.

All of us are past the era where black represented slavery and white leaderships thanks to Martin Luther’s dream. Color is no longer an obstacle to determine our destiny today anymore. This is clearly seen by the recent intermarriages, business partnerships etc. with the 'whites' unlike before where it made headlines to the both societies owing to its near unacceptability.

I really appreciate how we have overcome all these situations where the blacks were given all the kind of definitions in the world. We have gone from being possessed by demons to being possessed by love for one another.

Its no longer strange for a black man to fall in love with a white woman and vice versa, although there still exists passive racism among the whites. Africans especially in America are targeted by the police, and some even killed.

The strides have been made, but more still needs to done to completely eradicate racism especially directed at Africans.
