A female Catholic school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a pupil.
Fatima Grupico is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy in May last year.
The 24-year-old has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Grupico, a former history teacher at Cardinal McCarrick High School, in New Jersey, was held on Thursday.
The Office of the Middlesex County Prosecutor said she is being held without bail, NJ.com reported.
The prosecutor alleges the sexual relationship took place in May at the school, which was closed down last month because of flagging enrollment.
Grupico, of Linden, lost her job due to the closure, according to NJ.com.
The investigation is still ongoing Prosecutor Andrew Carey told the New York Daily News.
