If your man can’t satisfy you, ‘play with yourself’- Sex therapist

Sex therapist Maurice Matheka says the one-minute man problem is chiefly psychological.

“Some men, especially those who started having sex at an early age, sometimes tend to think that sex is about them. They grow with this mentality into marriage and are not willing to change. So they are never keen on pleasing a woman,” he says, adding that, “such men lack endurance. And this can be genetic for some men. To last in bed, you have to train yourself psychologically. Stop the anxiety.”

Matheka also says Viagra only offers a short-term solution.

“Viagra just maintains a steady blood flow to maintain a hard on. But if there is no interest, you will be exhausted, or irritated by the absence of the stimulus.”

Is there an average time to stay put ‘in there?’

“Not quite,” says Matheka, “It varies. Some can go for an hour, some less. It is not about the time, but skill.”

For men worried about size, Matheka says it doesn’t matter because, “the penis was created for procreation. We have only just evolved to know other ways that it can be deployed. But even so, it is more about the girth than the length. So men need to find a way of endurance, and improve on their skills.”

But when the problem is deeply rooted, Matheka advises women to ‘self-medicate.’

“Rather than going for multiple sex partners, women should masturbate. That way, they will own their own orgasms, since men are not masters of their vagina,” he says.
