Lionel Messi would have no problem working under Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, believes Angel Di Maria
Argentine attacker Angel Di Maria has refused to rule out the prospect of countryman Lionel Messi moving to Chelsea.
Messi, 27, was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January after rumours emerged that he was unsettled at Barcelona under new boss Luis Enrique.
The four-time World Player of the Year added fuel to the fire by following Chelsea's official account on Instagram, as well as the personal accounts of Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis.
Despite the scene at the Camp Nou appearing considerably more rosy after five La Liga wins on the spin, Manchester United man Di Maria thinks Messi could flourish under Jose Mourinho.
"I don’t think Messi would have any problem working with Mourinho," Di Maria told Fifa's official website.
However, he did say Messi's loyalty to Barcelona would be a stumbling block to any potential transfer.
"But in principle, I don't think Leo wants to leave Barcelona," Di Maria added.
"It's hard to walk away from a club that's given you everything, where you effectively grew up."
Di Maria started United's 1-1 draw at West Ham on Sunday just days after his family became the victims of an attempted break-in at his Cheshire home.
