The seizure of over seven hundred elephant tusks in Mombasa has raised pertinent questions regarding the laws against trading in contraband game trophies. This year alone over 18 of such cases have been reported with only two so far successfully prosecuted in court. Even then the penalties were not anything to talk about, thus encouraging repeat offenders. KWS blames this on the weak wildlife legal infrastructure. KTN's Mercy Kandie with the details.
